Education
is an important factor in a person's life. Especially for
women it is a must. It is very much essential for women to
be literate and to be able to read and write in order to be
able to live life with dignity and self-esteem. No matter
if we have stepped into the 21st century then also still a
woman is treated with contempt and dis-respect. Even today
she is considered a chattel something which is there for the
enjoyment of men and hence it becomes very necessary for women
to educate themselves in order to survive and fight all the
obstacles that she has to face.

Did
you know that Pakistan still has about 1/3 of women illiterate.
That is shameful for us becose Pakistan is the second most populated
muslim country in the world. We have the infrastructure and the
resources. We have given this world so many great scientist and
great personalities then it is time of worrie for us to be rated
so low as far as the literacy level of the world is concerned. Why
is it so? Has any one ever wondered?
What
we see ? About NGOs in Pakistan: Intrestingly many
NGO's are working in this field in Pakista and recieving huge donations
from Pakistanies and abroad. But unfortunately we can not see the
progress acording to the donations and funds recieved. Most of the
funds and donations goes into personal packets of these NGO's heads,
and remaining in arrangements of conferences and speeches in private
parties for showing thier false efficencies for further funds and
donations. on these occasions few poor girls and ladies are rewrded
with some donations for just "show time" otherwise many
NGO's heads dont like even to shake hand with a poor women.
Education
is important not only for ensuring that you make a great career,
but also for inculcating accepted values and principles in your
life so that you can lead your life as a person and you learn to
respect and love fellow humans. Respect for elders and love for
your young ones, knowing about your country and your life, knowing
about the mystical world of science is all possible only if education
is a reality in your life. As a person you have to see that you
help other also acquire this great power. Try to contribute.
Thus
if you want to see your country progress and be the most successful
country in the world you have to be educated and also try to educate
people. Make the best use of the facilities given to you and pass
on the legacy to the coming generation - that it is education and
nothing but education that will pave the way for a better future
for mankind. Make it a point to educate at least 12 illiterate
persons in a year and thus contribute towards eradicating
illiteracy from our country. Women who have free time should devote
their time in educating illiterate persons and you can begin by
teaching your maidservant to read and write. Tell her; enlighten
her why it is so important to learn to read and write and advice
her to send her children to school if still she hasn't. This is
your chance……so don't waste it. Do something for your
country. Help Pkaistan eradicate illiteracy and strive towards success.

How to Make Friends at College |
Does
that sound so difficult? It isn't, believe me. When you enter college
you find friends of the same age group. Everyone out there must
be looking out for friends. Unless you are a very reserved and shy
kind of person it is very easy to be friends with people of your
class and college. Making friends should not be a problem at all.
Still, it requires effort and a willingness to extend yourself at
times. You need to open up and be welcoming.
First
and foremost don't wait for people to come and introduce
themselves to you. Start with introducing yourself. Take the initiative
and cut the ice. Once you have introduced yourself it will be easy
to do the rest. Don't be snobbish and arrogant.
Attend
parties, sports events and special gatherings where
people socialize. Remain open to new cultures, ideas and values.
Invite people to join you for a bite to eat and a drink. This way
you can make friends fast.
Help
out your classmates or
people who are in trouble. Be co-operative and bubbly. Don't be
tense or irritated and even if you are don't show that on your face
otherwise no one will like to be with you. Throw a party occasionally
and attend all parties if possible.
Be
loquacious but don't talk nonsense, sociable, chatty,
talkative, friendly, outgoing, helpful, amiable, congenial, neighbourly,
approachable, easygoing and smart. All this will help you get the
best friends you want at college.

Steps
for Exam Prepration |
STEPS
TOWARDS ACHIEVING SUCCESS IN EXAMS
Every
person has his own way of studying to achieve success in exams.
Some like studying in the early morning, some like to do late nights,
some like studying all through the year while some believe that
last minute study is effective. Whatever your method is it is always
better to be thoroughly prepared for your exams and there should
not be a last minute rush. Today we are presenting before you some
steps of effective study and it is our belief that you will benefit
a lot from it.
STEP
1
Read through all the materials and all the chapters, including class
notes, text chapters and any handouts the professor has distributed.
Read carefully, paying special attention to any underlined sections
you may have marked. Do not leave any chapter because probably the
question carrying the maximum marks may come from that chapter.
STEP
2
Evaluate the test questions of previous years and the question paper
sets. Mark and write down the most repeated questions and the marks
they contain. This will give you a general idea of the most important
areas that you have to cover. This will also help you come to know
the mind frame of the paper setter and will help you give importance
to some chapters which requires more consideration rather wasting
time on unnecessary topics. But that doesn't mean that you can leave
other topics. Try to cover the most chapters as far as possible.
STEP
3
Now that you have the materials in front of you start preparing
your own notes. This will be most helpful because it will make you
aware of the particular topic and if the notes are made by you,
you will always remember it and memorizing it will not be a problem.
Generate questions to focus studying. Write down their answers.
Exam questions don't just ask you to recite back information you
have learned. They often ask you to think about that topic in several
ways and you have to be prepared for all possible questions in all
possible forms.
STEP
4
The next step is reciting and recalling. This is the most important
part of studying. You want to memorize as much relevant information
as you can. Then close the book or cover your notes and summarize
the main points. Practice recalling important concepts and definitions.
Keep doing this everyday so that you don't forget what you have
read. At the end of the day sit in your room, close your eyes and
then try to summarize what you have studied the whole day.
STEP
5
The last step is going back and reviewing all the materials again,
all the topics and all-important sections. This helps to fix the
information in your long-term memory. Now, you should be able to
answer all the questions you posed to yourself. If you can't, review
again. Make sure you understand the concepts, don't just memorize
names and details. Try to understand the logic behind it and I am
sure you will not face any difficulties anymore.
Apart
form these important steps here are a few general tips that will
help you in your study strategy:
Get
all relevant info
Get all the information you can about the test before you study.
Be it your class tests or competitive test or any other tests you
are planning to appear in. You should also know how specific the
test would be. Thus be prepared and know what to expect.
Review
Habitually
It's a good idea to review your class notes right after you've written
them and then again, just before the next class. Make sure you understand
the concepts you've illustrated. This way you will be ready with
the topic and if you have any difficulty you can approach the professor
right on.
Exam
Review
Start studying for the exam early. Don't do that last minute study
because then you are bound to miss out on many topics and though
you might pass but you will not be able to secure the percentage
that will be helpful in getting admission for higher studies in
reputated colleges. If you have a large amount of material to cover,
try dividing it into smaller chunks and start studying the most
difficult sections first. Go over that material just before the
test, so it's fresh in your mind. To fix it in your memory, practice
recalling the information aloud or try explaining it to someone
else or discuss the topic with your friends.
Take
proper rest
Generally, it's not advisable to stay up all night. Learning diminishes
with fatigue and you'll think more clearly if you're rested properly.
If you do stay up late, give yourself frequent breaks to keep your
mind alert. Study but don't kill yourself.
Chill
out
Don't exert yourself too much. Just relax and keep your cool. Excessive
anxiety will reduce your ability to think clearly. Get to your class
early and use those minutes to unwind. Chances are, if you have
given yourself adequate preparation, you'll feel better about the
test before you take it.

From
College To Work Place |
After
college you enter into a more important stage of your life and that
is CAREER. Making the transition from college to work is by no means
easy. It is an entirely different life style and one has to put
in ones utmost to be successful and achieve best results. You have
to take crucial and important decisions in office. The days of hanging
out with friends and wearing blue jeans suddenly will change to
business suits. You life has to be more disciplined as your responsibilities
increase and you cannot afford to take things casually. Here you
can not keep shifting the work on your shoulders on to others or
ask your friends like you used to do in college to complete your
journal or work book. You are responsible for your assignment and
thus you have to be sincere and hard working. When you start working,
you have to be ready for change, in your life as well as your way
of living.
The first thing a person has to be ready for is responsibility.
You will most probably be assigned a project when you begin
working. And it's very important to understand it clearly. You
must always understand what exactly is the sphere of your work
and who are the persons involved in the project and how much
is expected of you. Though duties keep changing and increasing,
it always helps to have an idea of which spheres of work you
will be accountable for so that later on there is no misunderstanding.
You cannot afford to waste time and will probably have to complete
your project within a certain time frame. Though there will
be no one constantly pushing you but you will have to produce
results all the same. Remember, performance is the most important
factor on the basis of which you will be judged in office.
-
Learning to work in and with a team is another important aspect
of working. This is very different to the team in college. Here
at work though you are a team but each person will have his
separate share of work and you have to be efficient so as to
complete your share. At the same time you have to make sure
you are not lagging behind so that the project assigned to you
does not get delayed because of you. Thus adjustment and cooperation
are imperative in a working environment. Each one has a specific
role but everyone is working towards the larger goal of the
organization.
Another important thing that you have to remember is that you
should come into the workplace with an open mind, ready to learn
and absorb. Learning and observing is an important characteristic
of success. One cannot know everything and he has to learn either
through observing or through experience. Don't expect that you
are perfect in everything. Initially you might make mistakes
but when you learn through your mistakes you will be perfect.
There is always something one can learn from co-workers, especially
those with more experience. Learning from someone should never
be a problem and you should never be ashamed to ask. Remember
your colleagues will always help you out if you don't know something
but if you pose to know it and then you fail or make mistakes
you will not be excused.
Time is money - Always remember this. Meeting deadlines is essential.
There are no will-do-it-tomorrow or postponements. One has to
complete whatever is assigned to one within the scheduled time.
A major change that will be moving into your professional life
will be in respect of your behavior. You have to learn to manage
professional relationships effectively and, as most professionals
point out, diplomacy is a must in the workplace. Maintaining
healthy relations with co-workers is vital not only for your
career but also for your progress.
Though the workplace is a drastically different environment
from college, the change that comes with it is an essential
part of growing up. It will shape up your career making you
a more responsible person. It will give you a confidence which
will help you go ahead in your life achieving success and only
success with each step you take.

Dream
Big
Everything begins in the heart and mind and the way you feel. Every
great achievement began in the mind of one person. They dared to
dream, to believe that it was possible. Always think big and be
a "dreamer." Dream of the possibilities for yourself,
your family, and for others.
Believe
it
Yes, your dream needs to be big. It needs to be something that is
seemingly beyond your capabilities. But it also must be believable.
And you must be the person to believe it first.
See
it
Yes try to see your success…try to visualize that you are
sitting in a fully furnished a/c office with more than 100 people
employed under you. Visualizing your success is also an important
thing and an important step towards success.
Tell
it
One reason many dreams never go anywhere is because the dreamer
keeps it all to himself. The one who wants to achieve their dream
must tell that dream to many people. One reason: As we continually
say it, we begin to believe it more and more. If we are talking
about it then it must be possible.
Plan
it
Every dream must take the form of a plan. Your dream won't just
happen. You need to sit down and plan out your strategy for achieving
the dream. Think through all of the details. Break the whole plan
down into small, workable parts. Then set a time frame for accomplishing
each task on your "dream plan."
Work
it
The next step is work hard for achieving your success. If you work
on it each day, eventually you will achieve your dream. Don't just
sit and dream, work hard to achieve your dream.
Enjoy
it
When you have reached your goal and you are living your dream, be
sure to enjoy it. Give yourself a huge reward when you get there.
Help others enjoy it. Be gracious and generous. Now go back to number
1. And dream a little bigger this time!
